One of Banff's most popular local hikes, the Tunnel Mountain trail is an easy-going hike that is suitable for all skill-levels and ages. The trail is easy to navigate and the incline is fairly easy with some moderately steep sections. Suitable for pets and children, the trail offers spectacular views of the town of Banff and the surrounding mountain ranges.

This is a great hike if you are looking for a fairly easy route that will still provide a good workout, whilst ensuring awesome views all the way up. I highly recommend this hike as it is a "must-do" iconic trail in Banff and it won't chew up too much energy or time!

Hiking poles are not necessary but there are some sections where they may be beneficial. As this is a good beginner hike, I would suggest bringing poles if you are just starting to get into hiking!
